".. How can there be no compulsion in Islam, yet war is declared on Muslims wishing to leave the religion - a right which is protected under the current federal constitution. I urge somebody to show me how forcing somebody to remain in a religion with death threats is not a form compulsion. The question is interesting because a Muslim who leaves his religion is no longer a Muslim and hence cannot be coerced into rejoining the religion by any means whatsoever. How then can Islamic law be applied to them?"
can anyone comment on the above? the full length blog entry can be read here. A brief description about the site goes like this: (taken from the site itself)
SuaraMalaysia.com is currently run by three youths whose primary aim is to encourage discourse on various issues affecting Malaysians. Race, religion and affirmative action are among the various issues that we discuss passionately about on this website. Our passion also extends to making fun of our neighbours down south as we believe, Malaysia is to Singapore what Australia is to New Zealand. Free your mind and come in. Leave all biases, racist remarks and stereotypes at the door please. SuaraMalaysia.com is a moderated forum. See our mission statement.
Suresh Gnasegarah, is the founder and creator of SuaraMalaysia.com. His primary job is to crack the whip on the FlameCritic and Michelle when they slack off.
FlameCritic, our in house cartoonist. Most of his work is archived at his website and at KakiComic.com.
Michelle Shamini Gunaselan, some say the flower among the thorns but others say she's one lean mean writing machine. Provides the human touch to SuaraMalaysia. We think she's here because she likes the cranky cartoonist and cute editor.
